Sephora Friends & Family 2013 is ALL about friends and family this year…unfortunately.  If you know a Sephora employee, lucky lucky, you probablyhave  nabbed a code by now. But at one time the code was pretty much accessible to everyone and it didn’t change much year to year.

L'OREAL Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation Review

Hello friends!  Today I'm going to be doing a review on the L'OREAL Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation.  I've been using it for about a month now and it's a very interesting product!

If you have good skin...meaning not a lot of redness, scarring, or broken capillaries...you are probably really going to like this foundation!  It's very sheer to light coverage (you will have to build it up to get that light coverage).  The best part about it is that it looks like your skin.  It has a great finish and it feels like you're not really wearing anything on your face...which I love!  It has a very natural/demi matte finish.  

I'd say it is a definite winner!  Again, if you have relatively good skin I think you will really like this foundation.  Give it a try and let me know what you think about it!

The question of heels vs. flats is never even a conversation for me. I am SUCH a flats girl. I could probably name the different occasions I have worn heels because they have been that few and far between. I've been hearing such great things about Tieks, but I don't personally know anyone who owns a pair. I would love a pair of Tieks to review and test out! Anyone know of a coupon code?

Dry Shampoo

I recently have become a huge fan of dry shampoo! I used to just use baby powder, but that always left my hair very staticky.  I have been trying many different brands to see which I like best.

Michael Todd True Organics Review

Recently I ordered many products from the Michael Todd True Organics line.  I kept hearing about it all over YouTube so I wanted to give it a try since I've been having problems with my skin over the past few years.

My skin overview:
Throughout my teen years I never had a problem with acne.  I had the occasional breakout from hormones or stress, but nothing severe or upsetting.  I would actually get compliments on the evenness of my skin tone.
I am currently 28 years old (TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!) and for the past 2 years I have been having a problem with my skin.  I had my first (and only ever) facial a month before my 26th birthday and it was an oxygen facial and I swear ever since then my skin changed.  It has become super oily, but then will also get dry patches.  I get a lot of hormonal breakouts around my mouth and on my chin.  I've never had this problem before so it definitely had me stressed out and looking for different products.  I don't think I have given any skin care routine enough time to fully see a difference.  I've used the Clinique skin care line, things I've purchased online and from the drugstore, etc. I have always heard to give something a month to see if it is working.  So that's what I am going to do with the Michael Todd skin care line that I purchased.

Products I purchased:

• Blue Green Algae Toner
• Anti-Aging Face Lift Knu Cream (bought this from Groupon...no way I was paying $150)
• Moisture Lite Non-Oily Hydrating Lotion
• Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask
• Intensive Organic Cream Eye Treatment
• Eye-o-sonic Ultrasonic Ionic Serum Infuser (Not Pictured) (Bought this and the eye cream from Groupon for a great deal!)
• Jojoba Charcoal Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub (Not Pictured)
• Charcoal Detox Deep-Pore Gel Cleanser (Not Pictured)

So far I have been using the products morning and night for about 2 weeks.

Immediate reactions:

• Blue Green Algae Toner: Loving this so far
• Anti-Aging Face Lift Knu Cream: I can immediately feel tightening.  Actual removal visually of lines/pore...not so much yet.  Also, I haven't used this everyday.
• Moisture Lite Non-Oily Hydrating Lotion: I use a very small amount because otherwise it leaves my skin feeling a bit greasy
• Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask: don't love the smell of this. Have only used it once.  Now that it's getting into Fall I will definitely use it more.  Love everything pumpkin! :)
• Intensive Organic Cream Eye Treatment: haven't noticed a huge difference yet
• Eye-o-sonic Ultrasonic Ionic Serum Infuser (Not Pictured) (Bought this and the eye cream from Groupon for a great deal!)
• Jojoba Charcoal Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub: Love this scrub! Makes my skin feel so smooth 
• Charcoal Detox Deep-Pore Gel Cleanser: love this cleanser! Makes my skin feel smooth and really clean.  Doesn't leave a film behind and it easy to rinse off

Once a month has passed that I've been using the products I'll definitely do another post to let you know how it's going!

Birthday

So it's my birthday.  28 today.  Not sure how I feel about it if I am honest.  Thought I might be in a different life stage at this point, but I am honestly very blessed with the life that I have...so no complaining here.  Though I do wish I was still 25...it was a great year! :)

Lollapalooza

Heading to Chicago tomorrow to check something off my bucket list...

What was your first tweet? (part 1)

I joined Twitter on June 5, 2008 and my first tweet was...

ahhh...not much has changed. :) Especially since I work with social media for 50% of my job.  Love the social media world.  It has been really interesting to go back and look through some of my first tweets.  I was certainly using it for a different reason back then.

Remembered I had twitter and started becoming much more active

Ahh working on my personal statement for grad school...a very important time in my life: 

haha very true.  In the beginning I had very few followers (not that 333 is a lot right now)

SUCH an exciting day!

This is probably the most seamless move I have ever done.  Besides the fact that the Pride parade, Taste of Chicago, and the Cubs vs. Sox was all happening the day I moved to the city...but it was the most emotionally ready and excited I've been when moving.  Felt good to get my apt set up and get out and explore the city!

 

Thus began my commentating on the public transportation in Chicago.  I swear I could've written a book about my experiences.  Hilarious.

That's all I'll relive for today.  I'll continue this as a series of posts because if nothing else, I really love going back through and remembering the memories. :) I hope the day treats you well!

Finally!

After months and months of searching I finally have Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation! Woohoo! I had to order it from the UK.  Hopefully all the searching has been worth it. I've seen it used in SO many makeup tutorials and raved about by so many Beauty Gurus.   It looks a bit dark for me, but I'll figure it out.  It was hard to tell my color over the computer.
Very excited to try it and let you know how it goes.

Well hello there.

Hello and welcome to my new blog.  I like to see myself as a lover of all things social media and the one thing I haven't truly embraced yet was....a blog!  So here goes my 2nd attempt at blogging (started back in 2008 but it was more like a diary and is now private).  I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to be talking about, but I can assure you that I will try to keep you entertained while here.  So, here's to the journey ahead and know that today is full of possible!
